Tango
What is Tango?
In Tango you fill a 6×6 grid with suns and moons. Every row and column must have as many suns as moons, and no more than two identical symbols may sit next to each other, horizontally or vertically. Some neighboring cells are joined by an = or a × sign: cells joined by = hold the same symbol, cells joined by × hold opposite ones. A few symbols are already in place at the start.
If you like LinkedIn's Tango game, you will find a similar daily puzzle here, for free. A good way in is the no-three-in-a-row rule: if two suns stand side by side, both ends get a moon. Once a row already has its three suns, the remaining cells are all moons. The daily puzzle is easy on Monday and Tuesday and hard on the weekend, and in free play you choose the difficulty yourself.
FAQ
What do the = and × signs mean?
Two cells joined by = hold the same symbol (two suns or two moons); two cells joined by × hold opposite ones: a sun in one, a moon in the other.
Is there a good trick to get started?
Look for two identical symbols side by side: both ends must get the opposite symbol. Likewise, if there is one empty cell between two identical symbols, only the opposite symbol can go there.
Does Tango get harder during the week?
Yes: Monday and Tuesday bring an easy puzzle, Wednesday to Friday a medium one, and Saturday and Sunday a hard one.
