What is Nonogram?

A nonogram, also called a Japanese puzzle or paint by numbers, hides a picture in a grid. The numbers beside each row and column tell you how many consecutive cells to fill, and in what order; there is at least one empty cell between the groups. Fill every row and column correctly and the picture appears. Click to fill a cell, right-click or long-press to mark it with an ✕.

If you like Picross or Griddlers puzzles, here you can uncover a new picture every day, for free. The daily puzzle is 10×10 on weekdays and 15×15 on the weekend, and in free play you can also ask for quick 5×5 boards. Start with the big numbers: a block of 8 in a row of 10 cells always fills the middle six cells, wherever it starts.

FAQ

What is the difference between a nonogram and Picross?

There is none: they are two names for the same puzzle. It is also known as Griddlers, Hanjie or a Japanese crossword.

How do I get started on a bigger board?

Look for numbers that are large compared with the length of the row, because their middle is always filled. Mark the cells that turn out to be empty with an ✕, so the crossing rows get easier too.

How big is the daily nonogram?

10×10 from Monday to Friday, 15×15 on Saturday and Sunday. In free play you can choose 5×5, 10×10 or 15×15.
